The New Forest, and its surrounding areas, play
host to a wide range of regular events. Further information on

If you are an avid mariner, then the Beaulieu Boat
Jumble might be of interest to you, which is held at the Beaulieu Motor
Museum in April each year. This sets the scene for the
Southampton Boat Show which is held annually and attracts visitors
from all over the country.
If you prefer having both feet firmly on dry
land, the Beaulieu Spring Auto Jumble might be more to your
taste.
Don't miss the British Pedal Car Grand Prix either, which
attracts competitors from Ringwoods twin town of Pont-Audemer in
France.
There are also car thrills and spills earlier in the
year when Bournemouth's annual Rallye
Championships take place.
Ellingham & Ringwood
Agricultural Society annually presents the Ellingham
Show and a guaranteed family day out. Each year, the show
is held in the beautiful grounds of the Somerely Estate, by kind
permission of the Earl of Normanton.
The Great Dorset
Steam Fair is a widely recognised event, as the leading of its
kind, both in the UK and abroad. The fair is held on a vast
500 acre site at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum, and is
attended annually in excess of 200,000 visitors. The show is
now proud to span over 5 days.
Other events held annually in
the New Forest and surrounding area, include the Fordingbridge Show, Netley Marsh Steam Rally,
The Romsey
Show, and the Bournemouth Dog Show.
The most famous event
to be held each year, without any dounbt, has to be the New Forest
& Hampshire County Show held in July at The Show Ground
in New Park, Brockenhurst. Established in 1920, the annual
Show now attracts almost 100,000 people, and promotes highly
prestigious Horse and Livestock classes. It also runs the
British Show Jumping Association's International Team Selection
Trials.
Launched in 1994, the New Forest Triathlon Series now attracts over 1200
participants, and is held in five locations between May and August
every year.
For those with a love of running, the New Forest Marathon
and Half Marathon held each second Sunday in September, is
certainly a must for family and spectators.
